Our firm engages in an extensive estate planning and estate administration practice for a wide variety of clients.

• Estate Planning. We are involved in all areas of estate and gift planning, and we strive to make the complex estate and gift tax provisions of our tax laws understandable for our clients. Our attorneys draft documents to accomplish the client's dispositive wishes, preserve assets and assist families in transferring wealth to the next generation. We advise our clients regarding the marital deduction and the applicable credit as well as the use of specific trusts qualifying for the marital deduction, bypass trusts, life insurance trusts. charitable remainder trusts, and other revocable and irrevocable trusts. Our attorneys frequently help our clients coordinate their individual estate planning with their business tax planning.  
• Estate Administration. We prepare and file all the forms required for the probate of testate and intestate estates, including the documents necessary to facilitate the transfer of assets by an estate to its beneficiaries. When required, we prepare Federal and North Carolina Estate and Inheritance Tax returns.
• Premarital Agreements. As part of our estate planning practice, we negotiate, prepare and review premarital agreements for individuals who are planning to marry.
